GUSTAVO CONTEPOMI

PhD Architect and Master - UPC (Catalonia Polytechnic University - Barcelona, Spain) Architect - UNC (Cordoba National University - Argentina)

...a good house or building is already in the site before being built. Searching for Harmony, a good architect will discover it by understanding the dreams and needs of their users, the tensions and conditions of the place and its environment...

With a relevant professional history of over 30 years, Gustavo Contepomi (GC) is an expert in designing all type of buildings for public institutions, projects that offer an ideal free field for experimental design and innovation. His work, seeking flexibility and high quality design, moves away from formal and preconceived ideas. It always takes into account the specific characteristics of each site such as cultural environment, plastic composition, landscape and sustainability.

The prestigious Barcelona Superior School of Architecture (from 1989 to 2013) was a forum for theoretical thinking on his own architectural practice and a space for experimentation on the design process, which is his research specialty.

Articles and studies about his architectural production have been published both in books and national and international magazines.

Between 2011 and 2015 GC was the Architecture Design Director of BeijingVS Architectural & Civil Engineering Design Co.Ltd.

Currently GC is the Chief Architect of Cuningham Group-China, www.cuningham.com a world-leading company in leisure and entertainment design, that in China integrates Tsinghua University - Cuningham Research Center.
